How to Clean Roller Blinds and Keep Them Looking Good for Years

Riyadh dust is relentless, and curtains are among the first things it settles on. Fortunately, caring for roller blinds is simple when you use the right method.
Weekly cleaning (quick)
- Dust the blind with a soft feather duster or a dry cloth.
- You can use a vacuum on its lowest setting with a soft brush attachment.
- Work from top to bottom.
Deep cleaning (about every two months)
- Lower the blind fully and leave it flat.
- Dampen a soft cloth with lukewarm water and a few drops of mild soap.
- Wipe the fabric gently without scrubbing.
- Wipe it again with a cloth dampened with clean water to remove any soap.
- Leave it fully extended until completely dry before rolling it up.
What not to do
- Do not soak the blind; water may damage the fabric or its backing.
- Do not use harsh chemicals or bleach.
- Do not roll the blind while it is damp, as this can cause odours and marks.
- Do not pull hard on the blind while operating it.
Caring for the mechanism
- Remove dust from the top tube and brackets.
- If operation becomes stiff or uneven, do not force it; contact us to inspect it.
A few minutes each week keeps your blind clean and can add years to its life. If you have a stubborn stain or a specialist fabric, ask us before trying a treatment.
