How to measure your window
A clear first measurement gets you a closer price. Our fitter takes the final measurement on the visit.
Inside the recess
The shade sits within the window opening. Measure at three points and use the smallest width and height.
Outside the recess
The shade runs past the edges of the window for better coverage. Start and finish where you want the coverage to end.
Roller shades
- 1Measure the width from start point to end point.
- 2Measure the height from the fixing point to where the shade should stop.
- 3For an inside mount, use the smallest of three measurements.
Drapery
- 1Measure the width from one end of the track to the other.
- 2Add some overlap beyond both sides of the window.
- 3Measure from the ceiling or track down to where the fabric should end.
Blinds
- 1First decide on an inside or outside mount.
- 2Measure the width at the top, middle and bottom of the window.
- 3Measure the height on the left, middle and right, and note the smallest.
